About ExamResizer

ExamResizer exists for one reason: the upload box at the end of an online exam application should not be the hardest part of applying.

Every recruitment season, millions of Indian students apply to SSC, UPSC, banking, railway and state-board forms from home. Each portal asks for something a little different — a square 350 × 350 photo for UPSC, a 350 × 450 photo with a name and date stamp for SSC, a 140 × 60 signature for IBPS, a left thumb impression that must not exceed 50 KB. If the file is 52 KB, the portal rejects it. If the stamp is missing, the form is non-compliant. And the usual remedies are poor options: pay the cyber café again, or upload a personal photograph to a random "compressor" website and hope it deletes your image.

We thought that choice was backwards. So ExamResizer does all of its work inside your browser. The photo is read from your device, drawn on an HTML5 canvas, resized, stamped with your name and date of photo, and re-compressed with a quality search that targets your exact KB limit. Nothing is sent over the internet. Turn off your Wi-Fi after the page loads and the tool still works.

What you can do here

Built for low-end phones and cyber cafés

The whole site is static HTML with a small JavaScript tool. It loads fast on a budget Android phone, works on old browsers, and stores pages in your browser cache so a repeat visit costs almost no data. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no premium tier — the candidates who need this tool the most are students spending pocket money on application fees, and they should not have to pay again to make their photo fit.

Between attempts, exam boards tweak their specs. When they do, our presets are updated too. If your notification lists a size we do not yet support, write to us and it will be added.
